Adobe Capture seems to work too, if it is available in the country where you live.

Ive got orange in my skin too but some shades of blue look great on me. You also use navy blue yourself. Does this apply to all shades of blue?

Hi, Justine. Please go into more depth on this topic with specifics for each color. Question: Juliane Moore is a red orange skin tone, but is wearing a red dress. Shouldnโ€™t she avoid this color? Redheads are always told to wear green, but itโ€™s the complimentary color to most of our skin tones.

Hi, Justine. This was very helpful! A video about choosing the right nude and neutral colors would be great. For example, navy or black, tan or gray, white or cream? A video on how to wear nude colors like blush and light tan would be great too.

I think I am neutral. I got 50% light orange and 50% light pink. I tried again and got Cashmere as an answer.

I've been slowly making my way through your videos while trying to drop my frumpy unflattering don't-suit-my-shape worn-out old clothes and replace them with an elegant professional wardrobe. Got to this video, and did the colour grab. My RGBs have quite similar values (because I'm really white), but red is a bit higher and blue a bit lower, so overall I get a white-orange. According to your video, I should look good in yellow. I actually scoffed and thought I had found something you didn't have right! I've been shopping today and decided to trust you and try on a couple of tops in a mustardy yellow. I've never known my skin look so tanned and healthy! Sadly, there was nothing in that colour that worked for my body shape, but definitely a colour for me to think about incorporating into the capsule wardrobe I am working on.

One thing I don't understand: who gets to wear blue? I always thought blues and teals suited me (I thought because of my blue eyes), but they should be awful on me according to this. Are there really people with green or violet skin tones who therefore look good in blue? Am I kidding myself to think I look good in blue? Blue, grey, black and khaki were the colours I was planning to build my capsule wardrobe around, but perhaps I should rethink the blue and khaki?

I use adobe drop tool to determine my skintone RGB and I get mostly, Grey, Green and Brown. I have a warm skintone I guess. my son is whiter and he is in the orange side. But yellow fits him well,.

I have white to orange skin and just dyed my hair orange, was that a wrong decision?

    June 17, 2019 at 11:07 pm
  • Jac Milligan Reply

I have a question. I am a natural redhead with freckles and quite blue eyes. My main skintone is very pale with a cool undertone, but my freckles (which cover my body) are very orange-brown. Generally, when I wear foundation I have to pick out the neutral shade, or it is far too yellow or pink for my skin. But, when I wear clothes, I stay away from most reds, yellows, and oranges, and all neon colors due to me looking ill or washed out. Where do I lie in your eyes?

Strange thing. According to the app I am very pale with tendecy to brown, orange and grey. However, I look terrible in brown, pretty bad in yellow (unless it is a pale yellow), and ok in muted orange. But I look fresh in blues and purples. How is that possible?

HI Justine, I love your videos. My question is: in another video you said your favorite color is blue. In this video you said you should not wear blue. Don't the colors you wear also take into consideration age, size, hair color, eye color, life style, occasion, etc.?

Hello Justine! I truly liked this video; now I understand why there are colours which I feel uncomfortable with and look strange wearing them. Casually I've found an interesting website: encycolorpedia.it (you can change language!). I think it can help with color complementary, shades, names, codes ect. Once you identify your skin tone of course.
