I am a brunet naturally, and my skin is warm with reddish undertone. I bleached my hair recently and I need suggestions on toners for my hair, which, independent of how much bleach goes on, always holds that touch of brassy yellow undertone. I tend to always stay on the cool toner area, like WellaT18 to compensate, but now I am really confused. Which color toner do your recommend me to try on my bleached hair to stay with my skin color, then?

Thanku. I learned a lot from you.. I think I'm neutral lol I have had my hair many colors and have been told I've looked good in all if them. I'm grateful for that. About 5 yrs ago the sun turned my hair blonde. (I was natural dark brown growing up. Then it was brown with lots of silver, white & gray) i dont understand how that happened? wierd lol now it's all of that minus the brown. ppl are dying thier hair the color mine is now. so funny. I still cant fig out the shape of my face. I think its oval? I know it's easy. I cant seem to get it. Oh well! I hope this made sense. Do u have a video on haircuts best for your face shape? Thank you for all your information. I appreciate it!

Lol Googling white – grey hair colors because I'm concerned about looking older. Your question…. my whole life I thought I was warm toned. I was a red head (orange when I was little) and I either wore green or brown. I found out a year ago I am cool toned, that was when I was 56😂

  5. Xenedraa Bourque says:

Still confused 😕 My favorite color tops to wear is Grey's, Brown's, Black, Royal Purple & long flowy flowery dresses. I've had black hair, tried red, & 3 different types of Brown's. I have had compliments both with my red hair & the dark warm brown, just not sure what flatters me more and what goes with my normal everyday go to color tops.

Im almost 3 years late to this video lol and I’m still confused as to which skin tone I have. I think I might be neutral because when I look at my veins I see both green and blue? But i mostly see green so I might be warm… I’ll figure this out eventually 😂

  7. Ann-Ingrid Helik says:

Hi, i'm turning 70soon: my skin tone is olive but uneven for the last year. My hair is thinning. ☹️ So got it cut short. It is grey only on the 'side burns' mostly it is a dull dark hazelnut color. I would like to lighten it but not sure how. Last year got highlights that seem orange now. Please any suggestions would be appreciated?

its so strange when i was living in LA my veins looked green and i was alwas "warm" I live on the east coast now and my veins look bluish with a hint of green but more cool! am I having and identiy crisis! haha. This still confuses me bc i pull a lot of orange on my hair which stylist always used ash but i like the gold

  9. Lauren Brumbaugh says:

It took forever for me to realize I was cool toned. I feel like neutrals are not common and not really represented well in the beauty community.

Hair, foundation shades, articles talking about color theory in makeup and hair that I find rarely discuss neutral skin tones.

If they do, it’s just barely mentioned and like an afterthought. Keep it up!

Your videos are so informative and nonjudgmental to those without a cosmo license! You should do a video on each skin tone! What to wear/ shades to style if your cool/warm/neutral… etc.

What if the top of the wrist is bluer, but the bottom of the wrist is greener?
    Maybe that's neutral?
Honestly, with so many people explaining this in blogs and videos also saying they're neutral as well, I'm beginning to think that neutral might be more common in general than warm or cool.

  11. Tom Kimball says:

What is a good toner for buttery blonde that doesn’t turn too golden? I’m part Native, a red-golden skin tone so neither too warm or too ash blonde works on me. Thanks for all the info!

  12. wonder women06 says:

litter idk what i'am i have one blue vein then the rest is green lol i so i have really red face hehehe i can get super pale in winter and summer if i don't get out in the sun but i hate to get darker idk why?

  13. Chasity Michelle says:

I'm also confused of what skin tone I am. I think I'm neutral mainly because I have both deep blue and light green veins next to eachother all over my body. I don't tan or go out hardly at all but I naturally look tan on my arms , but my legs are pale white . Also my face has sun freckles (sun damage), and a warm tone but my neck and chest is more pale like my legs an stomach. So I'm definitely a mixed mutt lol. I think this is why I have been able to pull so many different hair colours off , but cool an warm tone reds, burgundy purples and black looks the best on me. I have to say I recently have bleached and toned my hair blonde , however …. The platinum blonde I was originally going for did not seem to look good on me at all. I'm guessing my face looks too warm for it and I looked crazy. Now that I have toned it down to a little bit of a deeper palish yellow blonde it looks ok, but I don't look my best. I'm kind of stuck on what to do at this point with my hair . I would love to keep it a bright intense blonde , buy it looks like something needs to be with it to look my best . I'm wondering if it would look good to somehow ombre with a deep toned red or Burgundy? I really look good with rose gold , but I don't think the rose gold would probably blend well with this shade of blonde I have . I'm lost on what to do

Hi Ella, I’m from South Africa, I have gone from my very dark brown to wearing lighter highlights. However when they do my brown it always comes out brassy. I have not been able to find a hairdresser staying long enough to get to know my hair. I also don’t know how to get hold of the products that you use. I look better with a cool brown root and some ash blond streaks. But it’s still brassy and I hate it. Wish you where here to help. My hair is like grass and I hate it, only do it once a year, so I don’t understand why it ends up do dry.

  15. Tonya D says:

I’m always so confused about what color my hair should be? I have cool skin and blue eyes and my natural color is a dishwater blonde with a lot of red undertones so I never know what I should be doing when I want to change it up?

  16. natty0000ify says:

    Hi.
I just wonder if I can get my hair (dark ash blonde) lifted to level 8 in ash by high lift? I just wonder if high lift colour + 6% water can do it? or maybe 9% ( maybe that's too strong)? Or maybe is it better to use just regular colour as level 8 lightens my colour to light gingerish golden thing. Are you able to give me some advice? I really like level 8.1, anything lighter might not suit me.

  17. Kyra Watkin says:

Awesome explanation of neutral tones! I am neutral but prefer wearing bronzer so I am going to choose warm. The easiest way to be sure as a blind is to try on brunette wigs, one warm and one cool, it will be very obvious which one looks better.
