Sunscreens & Darker Skin Tones
It’s that time of the year where you need to pay even more attention to sunscreen and experience tells me it’s an area that darker skin tones sometimes tend to overlook.
Well, you shouldn’t because sunscreen isn’t just for Caucasian people, it’s for everyone! There is truth in the fact that higher levels of melanin in black skin provides some in built protection from the sun and gives a headstart over someone with much lower or no melanin content. That said, it’s still not enough protection and you leave yourself open to wrinkles, age spots, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer if you forgo additional sun protection completely.

With all due respect, our skin is not as susceptible to skin cancer as Caucasians. It is true that it is usually detected late which usually results in a fatality, but those numbers are extremely low. Our skin is extremely durable and so is our DNA. Black people rule!!
You should try neutrogena beach defense it goes on clear and it smells so good tropical 🌴 all the other ones leave my skin ashy I only use this on my arms because I do have tattoos
Do you work for the sunscreen industry or something. Because you are you are doing your fellowman a dis-service, and you are putting your black skin (with respect) brother in mortal danger with speaking such rubbish. Man has been designed ( or perhaps adapted over time) for the environment in which they live so they can utilise the sunshine to covert into vitamin D which is needed to many things in your body work and PROTECT you from CANCER. People in the UPPER northern hemisphere e.g SCOTLAND U.K. will have very pale skin to enable to absorb as much sunlight as they can, whereas a native of Africa or closer to the Equator will have very dark skin so they don't get over exposed and burn. I don't recon to be an expert on this subject but follow many experts Doctors on the internet. You might be a lovely person and have many followers but if they take your word as Gospel just because they like you they are in grave DANGER. I WOULD ADVISE THEM TO RESEARCH FOR THEMSELVES, THERE ARE MANY EXPERTS OUT THERE. Why not search ' THE TRUTH about suncreams' Black people have much nicer skin than wrinkled white people why not keep it that way and prolong your life by not using allegedly DANGEROUS PETRO-CHEMICAL SUNCREAMS ON YOUR BODY when God has given you a natural sunscreen. sincerely Tony_LivesinSonNsun
can you use these under makeup?
Does the Anthelios one stay on if you go swimming? Going on holiday and in need of an long-lasting SPF50!
Preach!!! I love the cane and Austin one for my face and have recently started using the Hawaiian Tropic Ultra radiance for my body, which I didn't expect to like but do. I usually use that la Roche posey one.
