I am medium tone but I am not light skinned and I have always identified with dark skinned women because my mother is very dark skinned and she has always felt under appreciated. She is extremely beautiful and men would approach her a lot but some men made her feel inferior even though she is very pretty. I wish black women didn't feel so rejected. It is sad that many feel that they may never be truly loved. But God will comfort them and send them a real prince!

Dark skinned women generally don't have blemishes of spots. Look at Taral Hicks and Kenya Moore. They are absolutely delightful. My x wife is dark, even though shes my x, she still drive me crazy! Especially when she goes in the sun and gets darker! I love my dark skinned ebony princesses! Remember, the darker you ar the more pure you are!

all of these women are public figures. They are all "dark skin " women. I have photos from a couple of decades to the present where I appear to have a very light skin tone to a medium tone. It depends on the photo. My skin tone is brown.

I'm a dark skin woman and I have heard that statement my entire life. By black men. Sometimes it feels like I'm expected to be ugly or something. I even had a boyfriend who friends didn't like me because I am dark. Not because they knew me. They thought he could do better with a lighter woman, LOL. I'm just like any other intelligent woman out there. And I have to admit, hearing those words can mess up your day even if they are trying to give you a so called complement.

Well everybody has there own idea of what being brown, light, or dark skin is. If you live in an area where the darkest person you see is pitch black like Akon, Camille Winbush, Elijah Kelley. And mahogany Kimberly Elise, Brandy, Ne-yo then you see mahogany skin as being light skin and black skin as dark skin. Yellow would be beyond light skin to that person. Everyone has their own perspective.

Funny, when I was a teen to early twenties I wore makeup a tone and a half darker than my own light brown tone. I envied dark complexioned girls with the thick black hair. I always thought they were like black dolls, so exotic – yes, exotic! My choice in men were very dark. When married, I hoped my chidren would be dark, instead they all came out light and one almost white. Nevertheless, I find some people don't care how beautiful a woman of color is, if dark skin, they say what a waste pretty!
But I don't think exotic is a good word to describe a human. I never met a British person before so does that mean pale British people are "exotic"? I don't think we should think of people from other cultures as so different. Again there are dark skin people from all around the world. There are Blacks in India and Arabs in Latin America. There are pale people from all around the world. Exotic is what you call a fruit or an animal. Dark skin folks are not animals.
It may not be exotic for you because you are used to them but it will be considered exotic to people who arent used to seeing darn skin women
