Model Khoudia Diop Speaks Out Against Skin Bleaching

When Khoudia Diop was younger, she was made to feel ashamed of her dark skin. Now the Senegalese model is using her success to spread the word about the risks of skin bleaching. The World Health Organization says that a quarter of Senegalese women use skin-bleaching products regularly. The products, even those claiming to have so-called “natural” components, can contain mercury, hydroquinone or caustic agents like sodium hydroxide. These are dangerous ingredients that can cause cancer and are potentially disfiguring. Khoudia Diop wants to show women that beauty comes in all colors.

Dark skin is so beautiful, your skin is blessed by the creator. Don't make any changes. Fuck people who say otherwise.

I think I've seen her walking around with a short white guy in brooklyn. I remember thinking wow this girl is unusually dark like very very dark but she is very pretty with a very sweet face. I did not know she was a model.

When you bleach your skin, you confirm to yourself that you were not beautiful. Ignore the bullies. Khoudia seems like a smart woman to know this.

Why does anyone want to change their skin colour? I can understand if you suffer from vitiligo, that has to be a confidence dropper but if you're a single colour I don't see why you'd want to. Khoudia has a really deep rich colour, absolutely gorgeous.

lighter skin wants to be darker and darker skin wants to be lighter. Did you ever stop and think, Maybe this is your true test? This is your chance to grow. The easy way is to obey the way of society. But easy never teaches. it only conforms us to a unrealistic standard. I refuse to conform to the standard of an indoctrinated nation!
