chocolate gold is far superior compared to other too faced eyeshadows though, which are not that great in general. the sweet peach palette smells horribly, I had to return it without ever using, because I couldn't stand the smell. I still feel nauseous when I think about it now. too faced and tarte, two brands with mediocre, but overhyped eyeshadow formula. the power of packaging.
I thought the golden state of mind pallette was beautiful, but I hadn't heard of it until now. But tbh I would sell my soul for colourpop, their pallettes are so good and cheap, so I'm maybe a tiny bit biased
I can hardly even see that highlight on your finger. Yikes.
I was at Sephora last week and the entire BlackUp section was 50% off. I then checked the Sephora app and there were like 3 BlackUp products left. So I don't know if they were going out of business, or if their contract with Sephora ended, or what.

Mac really did fall off
I go to sephora every now and then and the only brands that have tons of people checking out and swatching is Fenty, Anastasia, Laura Mercier, Nars. The brands with so-so traffic are Benefit and Too Faced. The rest of the brands are minimal or non exsistant

I thought it was Colour Pop sold at Ulta not Sephora. I shop for some things there but I finally just ordered straight from colour pop because ulta doesn’t have the new releases from them or morphe
Maybe I love benefit bc it was my first high end makeup purchase along with some nars orgasm back in 2005. I had these two cream shadows, a cake eyeliner (I still have and it can work if she's in a good mood), benetint, boing concealer, Dr feelgood, a powder foundation… man seems like I've gotten quite a bit. I got coralista blush a few years later. I now have a mini roller lash and love it but I'm not on my parents' budget anymore even at 28. Maybe it's nostalgia but I want some hoola lite bc I'm pale af, then I'm good, but I can get some light butter bronzer and call it a day. I have an og tf natural eyes palette and a new natural matte palette. They're the only palettes i use bc I stopped using makeup for a couple years, but I'm about to get some wet n wild 10 palettes and change that up soon.
I remember when coastal scents was all over YouTube in 2010 when I started watching makeup tutorials (that changed my eyeshadow game).
I love packaging but I don't buy makeup for that reason.

The lorac pro matte formula is actually amazing, it sucks that the packaging and the brand is boring.
in regards of Kyllie cosmetics…..how about those extremelly overpriced makeup brushes…..
I disagree with too faced! They do have flops but they also have staples that everyone buys like the foundation and bronzers.
Too faced is still on the radar don’t know why but all the influencers talk about it.I don’t trust them.MUG because of the absurd amount of money influencers were asking.Ben nye is stage makeup and mac is classic but outdated and the eyeshadows are mediocre but they have key products that will always keep them going on for years.kkw and Kylie that’s overpriced garbage people who buy them aren’t smart customers but those two plastic ass females are smart business women who know how to milk dumb customers.patrick Starr just slapped his name on already available products for a higher price.BE A SMART CUSTOMER.Dont give into the hype as soon as you see all of the influencers talking about the same thing you know it’s been paid for.🙄

Too faced used to be good. I used to love the Born this Way foundation and the better than sex mascara. But I’m pretty sure they’ve changed some of the formulas. Also I’m pretty sure a few years ago they were sold to some huge cosmetics conglomerate
MAC is one of those brands that’s classic and luxury, however they still use animal testing. It’s 2018… there’s new technologies that make something as cruel as animal testing obsolete.

Youtube doesnt reflect the real world… Youtubers keep moving on from products so their channels dont become stale, they need the new products to stay fresh, an they'll mostly push the products they are being paid to, or if they have a discount code for etc..
MAC has however become an icon since it started in the early 80's . It has surpassed all the trends . you can lose interest but its your own trend hopping….not the brand itself necessarily being 'off the radar', it might not create the hype you get anymore but it wont be going anywhere and will be rediscovered by every new generation …because its a 'scene' you want to be affiliated with. cool kids want mac . to me ' being 45' watching my younger friends get all regal and religious on their mac lipsticks was funny, I remember madonna wearing the first mac matte red lipstick in the 80's running around with a mac t shirt, she, celebrity-wise got it on the map, her and macs aids awareness were huge. This brand will solidate itself amongst every generation that wants a moment of VIP. It will take some tragic pr decisions or scandal of magnitude to pull this brand down. it can afford people going 'meh' . like myself, i wear maybelline fit me dewy but does it feel the same pulling that out of yr make up bag? no.

I haven't purchased a single item from Too Faced. I also put them on mute after the Peach palette lol!
With Lorac, their shadows seem so dang creamy but their color stories don't speak to me… I may have to check again.
I eff with WnW but the mermaid/unicorn stuff is tiiiiiredddd. I just like the odd lip colors.
I feel like people are only talking about MAC atm because of Patrick Starrr (oop and you just said that haha), and he has 2 more collections to release. They really have him to thank for any recent relevance, IMO.

I disagree with you on one thing. A lot of Youtubers big and small like too faced … some swear by it but to me their products are hit or miss, I love the hangover primer but I'm not really into their palettes (only the peachy mattes) I'm not checking for too faced either but a lot of people are.. But I do agree with you about MAC no one really checks for mac like they did 3 or 4 years ago. I never checked for Kylie cosmetics lol….
These days there are so many diffent makeup brands! I think it is good to be critical because we cant buy it all.
I still love Mac, I was never fond of the limited editions: my everyday lipstick is Retro, my everyday blush is Mocha.
For me Mac is like a black bag: not the most exciting bag you own but the one you end up using the most while your super special ones sit in the closet.
