it's really not that offensive of a video and I get what the point of it was but…. it's so condescending. and why would it be empowering/encouraging for dark skin women to watch a light skin girl paint themselves in their skin tone to make a point on YouTube? you loving dark skin because of how it looks only challenges one stigma about it and, imo, just shows you either don't know or don't care about the other, deeper, much more important reasons dark people bleach their skin.
and if this was really about showing black women that dark is beautiful, why wouldn't you bring someone with actual dark skin in and paint them? I just find the intent of this video to be disingenuous and I can't tell if it's accidental or more intentional. wack af
