I can't understand my undertone at all. My skin is a combination of pale yellow, pink and white. I am kinda rosy and get sunburns easily (especially cheeks, nose, collarbone, shoulders etc) But my skin tone is clearly a shade of pale yellow. My veins look green where I have got a yellow skin but it's blue where I have got white. (Like wrists) I just try to find neutral pale shades of foundation.

Thanks for adding the info about checking your neck area. I always thought redness from rosacea meant I had to have cool undertone

People of color are more complex because there is so much pigmentation in the skin vs someone who is light. Sad that the industry doesn't get that. Probably because it's too difficult to find the right shade and yes, he is right about combining. Even people with light skin combine foundations. 😅

I tried to buy a MAC foundation once, the girl at the (awfully lit) store told me my color was NW20. She applied on me, but it was night and artificial light everywhere, I thought it was ok. I tried to apply it myself (very gentle hand as I hate texture and high coverage) and I looked like an Oompah Lompa. Orange, like 3 shades darker than my skin, a disgrace. I gave the products away. Never found anything that looked very flattering. Now only IT Cosmetics CC cream in Fair.

I can’t tell if my veins are blue or green since some are blue and others are green. Am I a neutral then?

I have a mix of blue and green veins, so I'm more neutral. However, my skin is quite light, but at the same time yellowish. Cool foundations are too pink and make me look orange, while warm foundations just look too deep. It's difficult to find one that matches. Thankfully Kiko Milano do a foundation that has an undertone called neutral gold, which is a perfect match 🙂

I’m very fair with lots of pink. But not porcelain dammit! Dark hair. Classic Irish colouring. A lot of fair foundations and concealers are yellow based. Hey Sheseido we’re not all Asian! Hard to find the right one. I use Art Deco 01. Best colour for me

    I so appreciate this!
Am of green veins, and noticeably ethnically {warm} light to medium — With golden undertones.

Light on cheeks & the outer part of my face, tanned. So definitely will follow your advice on using two foundations — Lasts longer & does help set the products in. So thank you very much.

Can't find foundations with a yellow undertone in the shops in my country, I guess it's because people here are generally rather pink or neutral but it's so annoying…

Thanks for this video, it is a bit hard for me my neck is rather yellow and so is my body except for the legs and my hands which are always a bit pink especially when it's cold. I do have freckles in my face but to find the right shade of foundation is a struggle I don't know if I ever did to be honest… I wish! Something that is ok but not really covering is the Chantecaille Alabaster tinted moisturizer. But I would really like to find out but every time I go somewhere people only want to sell their products rather than selling me the right match 🙁

This is a major problem for me
I can never find a foundation that really works for my skin. Yellow undertones seems too yellow. Pink undertones and I look like a tomato, too much warmth for me. I like cool tones but makes me look pasty!!

I am green. It's like sickly ashy yellow that doesn't go away with moisturizer, yellow is too yellow, pink is always too pink, neutral looks weird and unnatural like painted on. Nothing ever matches my skin… that's why I don't use make-up 😫

It… My skin has a neutral cool undertone. But it does look yellowish, if I pick a pinky foundations it will look too pink. If I pick a warm toned foundation it will tool too yellow or even orange. So most of the times I need to mix them up, providing it is more on the cool side than on the warm side it works! Cool light undertoned skins tend to not blush, warm light skin undertones may have bluish veins and get sunburned. Also they blush more, they can look pinkish (but if you measure than pink. you will see it’s a warm pink not a cool one)

Well, I am not putting so much on my face. Yellow undertone makes me look older or not myself. Using a right undertoned foundation makes the whole difference 🙂
