How to Enable Windows 10 Hidden Dark Theme

Windows 10 new default theme is very bright and hurts the eyes, like the brightness of Windows 10 is everywhere. It seems that Microsoft built a dark, black theme into Windows 10 but itโ€™s hidden.

this is very useful if you don't have a key and can't change the theme.
i've just installed windows 10 and it had the light theme on (with the white taskbar), found a dword under CURRENT_USER called SystemUsesLightTheme, set it on 0; taskbar and menu turned black rightaway. also disabled the transparency while i was there.
    thanks a lot!

this was a trick on windows 8, windows 10 has the option in settings, and don't ever download a registry file from anybody!

For Windows 10 users, here's an easier way to do it:

    1. Type in colour settings in search bar
    2. Scroll down
    3. Look for Choose your default app mode
    4. Click Dark

    There you go.
