My beautiful model today, Katie, has struggled with acne throughout her life. She has a little bit of post-acne scarring and some marks on this side of her face. What I want to do is we’re going to start by giving her a little bit of coverage and color-correcting the redness first. How I am going to do this would be to use a little bit of green primer. This one is the Makeup Forever HD Green Primer. The reason I like it for her skin type is because it is water based. A lot of primers come in silicon base. Those are not necessarily the best for oilier or acne-prone skin, because they tend to seep into the pores a little bit more. This one will sit really nicely on her skin. It is not going to clog her pores. And, if you can see, it is correcting the redness. Don’t be afraid of the coloring. I know it looks scary.
We’re going to go on ahead and prime. I don’t usually put this all over the face. Just in the areas that you’re seeing that extra redness. The kind of look we’re doing, since she doesn’t have too much of a breakout on this side of her face. I’m going to show you some times on how to do a lighter, daytime type of coverage. It’s not going to be that super full, kind of cakey look. I’m just going to do something that she could wear around doing errands and anything like that and she won’t feel so made up. The next thing that I am going to do is apply a CC cream for her. Now this one is the Peter Thomas Roth. It has camu camu in it, which has a very high concentration of vitamin C. CC stands for color corrector. Over time it is going to fade these dark spots and scarring that she has, which is amazing for her. She’s using something that is treating her skin as well as covering.
If you see, I’m using my fingers to press in to the skin. Sometimes, when you have this type of pigmentation or you have a breakout, the warmth of your fingers and rolling and patting will help it set into the skin so it is not sitting on top as much. One of the big things that we have spoken about, Katie and I, when we we’ve had struggles with our skin is just making sure that you are treating your skin right. Use moisturizer. Don’t be afraid, even if you are oily to moisturize because that is when you run into problems. I know I had very, very oily skin when I was younger and I thought, “Oh, hey, I don’t need to use moisturizer. My skin is already oily. Who needs that?” And my skin actually took the makeup I was applying on it as moisture. Taking it into my pores and breaking me out more. It was a disaster.
Interestingly enough, and I’ve never tried this, but Katie likes to use honey on her skin because it moisturizes and heals. She has had a lot of success with that. I want to finish by setting it with powder because we want to make sure that she doesn’t get shiny or too oily throughout the day. I’m going to use a little bit of the Makeup Forever HD. It’s really nice for oily skin types. It’s very smooth, it’s going to blend everything and keep everything matte. I’m using a kabuki brush and blending it all over the face. If you want more coverage you can go through and spot conceal, but I’d say this is a nice, easy daytime look for covering a little bit of post-acne scarring.

does anyone know how to fix a nose piercing scar? i took mine out a while ago but there's a red dot where it was.
I have red scars in my face through surgery how can i hide through makeup can you please suggest
Where are the scars?
My Mom had a skin graft on her nose and needs good coverage for the darkness, but needs to wash off easily, no scrubbing or pulling the skin. Any suggestions, thoughts would be appreciated
Well i think they need to do a video on actual scars and i dont mean acne scars
lol the woman never had any scarring to begin with
When applying you should apply up and out. I noticed when you apply the make up your doing it in a downward motion.
Don't see a difference.
I was kinda hoping you wouldve done that on the other side of her face, because her right side seemed to have a bit of darkspots so i actually wanted to see if it would look as if she had no pimples or darkspots
