How I’ve missed you, my friends. Thank you, for your patience and your beautiful messages during my absence. They’ve meant more to me than you can imagine. Today’s video is about basics. I get asked so much about how to determine dehydrated skin vs dry. Infact, many of you with oily skin are very confused as to why your skin still feels tight and flaky. I’m sharing with you my experience and what I have found has helped me. Hopefully, it’s helpful to you, too!

I have a bunch of videos coming up that I was partially through editing, some collaborations as well that had to come to a screeching halt. I am excited to get them finished for you!

I have dehydrated skin and I’m not sure if you’ve mentioned this before but is the hada labo hyaluronic acid lotion basically a toner & a essence?? Also do you need to put a moisturizer on after?

So would it be safe to say that I have combination dehydrated skin?
My forehead and nose tend to get pretty oily throughout the day, while my cheeks and mouth area are rather normal to dry, and the skin around my eyes is pretty sensitive and swells and goes very red when I'm not gentle enough.
My face looks dull, I have dark circles under my eyes and I get acne all over my face, ironically more so on the dry areas of my face than in the oily T-zone.

Does that mean I have to use different product on all the parts of my face?

I don't even know where to begin!!

Hi Renee! thanks for all the helpful videos. With so much information out there, I tend to put my trust in your advice and so far it’s been great! I have a question regarding ingredients in my final moisturizer. First I use hada labo premium hyaluronic acid to hydrate (a god send) but my top layer to seal it in has been Tratia’s liquid gold. I’ve been loving how it feels but it has come to my attention that there are silicones in the liquid gold. I have adult acne and I’ve been avoiding silicones like a nut job in all my makeup products like foundation etc. What’s your take on continuing use of the liquid gold? I know silicone is probably used often to seal in moisture but I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a similar final step fatty acid moisturizer that would be more safe for my acne prone skin (which can get very dry). Thanks!!
