Think about it like an egg upside down. A longer face than it is wide. Forehead is a little wider and then your jawline is a little slimmer.

ROUND
As long as it is wide with a wide cheekline, slimmer jawline, and slimmer forehead.

Go for a geometrical pattern or something more square because again, you want to create that even, balanced effect so if you have a round face, you have the sharper corners to make you look good.

DIAMOND
Wide cheekbones, pointy chin, a slightly slimmer forehead.

You want something that’s not too big and somewhat round. If you want a pair of wayfarers, skip the big ones and get the slightly smaller version.

SKIN TONE
To determine your skin tone, look at the inside of your forearm. Go outside for natural light.

If you have pale skin, your forearm has a bluish and slightly pinkish undertone, you should go with pastel colored frames or maybe blue. Other tones are too harsh and simply won’t look good on you.

If you have medium colored skin with yellow and green undertones, you want something like a tortoise shell, brown, amber, or green because it harmonizes best with your skin tone. If you have pink and blue undertones, it’s a cool skin tone and colors like blue, red, brown, or even green work well for you.

If you have darker skin with a warm yellowish or green undertone, go with metal frames in dark brown, or cognac, maybe even amber because that’s the best color scheme for that skin tone.

When you have dark skin with a cool undertone, you want strong, dark colors such as black, dark blue, or dark brown because it creates the best balance between the contrast of your skin tone and your sunglasses.

Once you determine your skin tone, you can really narrow down what type of sunglasses work for you and it’ll be much easier to pick the right ones from the 500 other ones you find at stores.

I have kind of an oblong face shape so I go with a larger frame that is slightly thicker and I have this kind of tortoise shell color with the darker lenses and it goes really well with my overall medium skin tone that is slightly more yellowish and green with the undertones.
