Does using a Zinc Pyrythione cleanser before applying Azelaic Acid cancel out the benefits of one or both active ingredients? Thanks!

if anyone has per. derm, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, etc. you have an excess build up of yeast that feeds on sweat, oils, etc. How to rid it avoiding prescriptions???????! Get your hands on products with absorbent agents that absorb that excess, damp environment. key ingredients include, oatmeal flour, SILICA, any mineral like zinc or titanium dioxide, or salt (sodium chloride). buttttt here's the trick, you also need moisture bc too much absorbing causes dry skin right??? what to do? combine absorbents with oils, lipids, and water that mimic skin barrier. best combos include: cetaphil or cerave cleansers (cream-based) with an absorbent moisturizer like aveeno baby that has the flour or cerave cream in a huge tub or vanicream cream or Clinique moisturizing cream in the jar it's yellow. Basically I mixed a non-absorbent cleanser and a matte cream. Now we can do this vice versa……these combos work to:Cetaphil daily facial cleanser or cerave foaming cleanser with a more oilyyyyy product like: Cetaphil moisturizing cream, cetaphil daily lotion in a that huge bottle, or eucerin calming creme in a tube. The idea is to mix absorbents and oils to get moisturized while also preventing yeast build up. In addition you may use a wash cloth to NOOOOOOOOT SCRUB but to use it as a helping hand to remove excess build-up of product, oils, etc. Wipe over face gently to damp skin before cleansing, to remove build up and use again after cleansing. this is not a scrubbing tool, it's a helper. dont want to break down that lipid barrier. I hope I helped. Btw, dr. dray knows better than me and is an expert so listen to this video as well. She's the best!

I was prescribed Azelaic acid for rosacea . I had amazing results with Soolantra but insurance wouldn't pay for it anymore and wanted me to try the Azelaic first. I read serious side effects of certain permanent skin changes. That scared me so I never used any. Fortunately my rosacea was under control by the time I got the product (insurance red tape).

This is fantastic, thank you! Do you have any suggestions of what kind of moisturizer to pair with the foam after it absorbs? Also, because Iโ€™m using Clyndamyacin-BZP, im only introducing the 15% Fin once a day. Is this going to be enough to help with my hyper pigmentation, or will I be under treating?

I went to my dermatologist and had a full body skin check-up today for the first time in 12 years, and I also asked her a ton of questions. I told her about you, and she agreed with pretty much everything you say. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

@Dr Dray good Saturday morning Miss! ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบI am researching azelaic acid for my rosey cheeks (rosecea?) It's not an extreme case. I really like the Avene antirougers fort relief. I still have persistent red cheeks. Especially when I get nervous. :D. I am seeing a dermatologist, but I don't think my case is serious enough for a perscription. I'm interested in trying azelaic acid.

Hello doctor, will there be an improvement in milia, sebaceous hyperplasia and clogged pores while using azelaic acid? I want to try Paula's choice or The Ordinary azelaic acid but have the feeling PC will be more gentle on the skin, I'm taking from experience using her products.
